A self-taught artist, a teacher and a student. Janice Parker has taken art instruction through the College of New Caledonia and Emily Carr College of Art (now Emily Carr University of Art & Design).
Born and raised in Coquitlam, B.C., Janice travelled and moved to other provinces in Canada for many years only to return to her old home of British Columbia. Salt Spring Island is finally her home where she can find flowers all year round. She enjoys living in Canada with all the wilderness it has to offer.
Her favourite medium is acrylic painting. Acrylics allow Janice to create layers of vibrant colours with unique textures.
Exploration of nature heavily influences her art. She’s always curious to discover how she can experiment with colours in her paintings.
